That’s Right! We’ve added passcode protection for QR code viewers.
You asked, we answered! Of course, we get it; Sometimes you need to protect client information, or conceal proprietary information. Now, with your Pro account on JobSite.codes – you can do just that. You can add the passcode during the first step while creating a projects, or you can add a passcode to an existing project by editing the site details. Once users enter the passcode the first time, as long as the come back into the project within 30 days, they won’t need to re-enter the passcode on their device, unless the code is changed by the admin.
Word of Caution: Keep it simple for trades.
I know a lot of our users are ecstatic about this feature, hey, we are too. However, the whole reason JobSite.codes is a successful tool is because we don’t require any unnecessary steps from the trades. They don’t want to take their gloves off, download and app, or… enter a passcode… (See what we did there). So, we strongly recommend that the passcode feature is used only when necessary – and if your trades are 100% on board.
Tips for making the addition of a passcode easier on your team.
- Only use the passcode when it’s necessary
- Educate your trades about the importance of security on the sites that you need to protect
- Allow trades to share the passcode with their teams
- Hide the passcode in an accessible area, away from other QR codes. A mechanical room would be a great spot.
